How it types
your hands already know it.
- 01
Enter moves on
After a scene heading comes action. After a character name, dialogue. After dialogue, back to action. Enter takes you where the page goes next.
- 02
Tab changes it
Wrong element? Tab cycles through them. Type “int.” or “ext.” and the line becomes a scene heading.
- 03
A page count you can trust
A running page estimate sits by the word count, so you know when act one has gone long.

Feature film, long-form feature, and drama and comedy TV pilots, with a card for every beat, or Save the Cat and the Story Circle if that’s how you think.
questions from screenwriters.
Is it really free?
Yes, during the beta. Screenplay format, title page, scene numbers and .fdx, Fountain and PDF export, as many scripts as you like, with no watermark and no trial. A paid plan comes after the beta, and nothing you wrote is ever locked behind it.
Can I open my script in Final Draft?
Yes. Export .fdx and it opens with scene headings, action, characters, parentheticals, dialogue and transitions as real elements.
Does it do title pages, scene numbers and CONT’D?
Yes. The PDF has an industry title page, scene numbers in both margins, (CONT’D) when a character keeps talking across action, and page numbers top right. Final Draft and Fountain exports carry the title page and scene numbers. Dual dialogue is not there yet.
Where is my script stored?
In your account, readable only by you, with a working copy in the browser you use. Back up everything to one file from Settings any time.
