The AI in Buildblur suggests; it never writes into your page on its own. It only sees what you ask about. We don’t train anything on your writing. And your authorship record shows honestly what came from it.

What it is for

Buildblur’s AI (the crew, called Jeff in the studio) is there to help you write your book, not to write it for you: to suggest a next paragraph, rewrite a passage three ways, read your pacing, ask the questions an editor would, and check your draft against your own world. Everything it produces is a proposal you can keep, change or ignore.

What it sees

Only what a request needs: the passage or scene you’re asking about, the details of the characters and places involved, short measurements of your style (like average sentence length), and your instruction. It doesn’t see your other projects. Nothing is sent until you ask.

Who runs it

Requests go through our endpoint to OpenRouter, which routes them to free AI models from various providers. We choose from the free models that are working at the time, so the provider can change between requests. When they are busy, Groq or Cloudflare Workers AI answers instead; neither trains on what it is sent. Some providers of free models log prompts or use them to improve their models under their own terms. We don’t store your text.

What we’ll never do

  • Train or fine-tune any model on your writing.
  • Put AI text into your page without you choosing it.
  • Count your use by the word or the token. An ask is one request, and a failed one isn’t counted.
  • Pretend AI text is yours in the authorship record.

Who owns the output

Text you keep from a suggestion is yours to use, as far as the law where you live allows. Copyright rules for AI-assisted work differ by country, and some publishers and prizes ask you to disclose AI use; your authorship record helps you do that honestly.

Accuracy

AI makes mistakes. It can invent facts, misread your story, and produce text that resembles existing writing. The continuity check only reports problems it can quote from your own pages, but check anything important yourself.

Turning it off

Every part of Buildblur works without the AI. If you never open the crew, nothing you write is ever sent to a model.
